Nitwitz Childrens Shampoo for Head Lice is a natural treatment to help get rid of head lice. Head lice (Pediculus capitis) are small parasitic insects adapted to living mainly on the scalp and neck of the human host. A female louse may deposit more than 100 eggs at a rate of about 6 eggs each day. The occurance of head lice is an ongoing problem, as many parents and children will know. Head lice are now becoming resistant to some chemical pesticide treatments and it is now becoming a worldwide problem. A study of school children in the United Kingdom has indicated the resistance of these head lice to the standard treatments. These persistant head lice are requiring several treatments and are increasing the risk of over exposure to chemical pesticides.
The potential evidence of essential oils has been studied against head lice. Tea Tree Oil was shown to be effective, possibly due to the chemical composition. The main constituents of Tea Tree Oil are: 1,8-cineole, terpinen-4-ol, terpenes (4).
The package of Nitwitz Childrens Shampoo for Head Lice contains a 200g Nitwitz Shampoo, a 25ml bottle of Lemon Scented Tea Tree Oil and a free fine-tooth head lice comb.
